About Us

I'm a former Royal Australian Navy Communications specialist and have a combined 14yrs of Defence force and private contractor experience. I developed a product which every parent should have, and every person should be swimming with, it's like the old saying,

"Rather have it, and not need it........Than needing it, and not having it"

I founded AEGIS 1. The company name, AEGIS comes from Greek mythology being the shield from ZEUS which was given to the Goddess Athena in battle. AEGIS was the most powerful shield ever built by a god. The perfect name then, for our safety products.

AEGIS 1 was formed in 2019 and the Idea I had wanted to develop was designed in 2017, it has taken 3 years to complete this. However, finally, we are here. The world's first-ever 'Inflatable infant jumpsuit' without looking like one. All of our product range integrates with the variety of fashion types our customers have making it blend in, so it does not interfere with their activities. I wanted to make it very fashionable yet discrete to protect people and combine a very cool and safe feel.

AEGIS 1 is about water safety but at an advanced level not seen before. We are innovative with unique designs and engineering, we believe our product is 'The Game Changer' in aquatic safety.

$1.5B Cost to the economy

Based on research conducted by Royal Life Saving, the combined effects of fatal and non-fatal drowning costs Australia more than $1.5 billion each year. These costs combine the health system, emergency services, coronial, and productivity effects of an average of 286 fatal and 504 non-fatal incidents each year.

The above figures cost the economy a considerable amount. Other countries would be similar or would simply cost those countries well over $1.5 billion each year.

These figures reflect the value that Australian society puts on the years of life lost due to drowning, and the years lived with a disability as a result of the nearly 8% of non-fatal drowning incidents which result in permanent neurological damage.

S.E.A.L.™ Infant

The world's first infant life-saving jumpsuit.

The S.E.A.L. (Special Emergency Alert Locator).

Patent designed and engineered by former Royal Australian Navy Communications specialist

Sebastiaan Van Nuissenburg.

The S.E.A.L™ is designed in a way that has state-of-the-art technology to be able to monitor and save the infant from drowning. The S.E.A.L™ 'Patent' project has a discrete built-in flotation device which starts in the deflated state. It has a custom Micro auto-inflation device purely built for this project. It also comes with a custom 4G GPS Nanotechnology device with a first-ever 'Water sensor' built-in.

The result is that as soon as the infant falls into the water and is submerged, the S.E.A.L™ will auto inflate immediately. The water sensor in the GPS will automatically send an alert message to the Mobile app 'AthenaEyes', alerting the parent that the S.E.A.L has been deployed. The built-in LED Strobe lights will emit an S.O.S flashing signal every 30 seconds. This lasts for up to 10 hours. The LED strobe lights are located on the front and rear, and are bright enough to see from 1000ft above sea level.

S.E.A.L.™ Infant

The three perspectives of the 3D render provide you with an indication of how the final design will look. The S.E.A.L is simply designed to prevent drownings with its auto-inflation. Its GPS nanotechnology sends a signal to the Mobile app alerting you of the location via Satellites with an accuracy range of 5m. The LED strobe lights will instantly emit an S.O.S Navy Flashing light, which will last up to 10 hours. Every 30sec, the S.E.A.L LEDS will emit an S.O.S signal visible up to 1000ft +. The specially constructed suit will house special fabric technology that keeps body heat close to the infant, this will warm the surrounding water close to the body.

The GPS will send a historical location date every 3mins, so you can map out where the infant is approx located in the event the GPS has no signal.

The GPS device has 2-way communication where the parent is able to communicate with the child to keep them calm. The heart rate, altimeter, speed indicators on the GPS will port over to the mobile app, giving you an indication of the vital signs of the infant.

The size will range from infant size 0000 through to size 2 at which point the toddler will begin to wear the S.E.A.L™ shirt design seen below. This shirt houses the same technology and will be good up to sizes for large adults weighing up to 100kg.

S.E.A.L.™ Child/Adult

The Child and Adult S.E.A.L. are simply for those older than that of the S.E.A.L Infant. This is more suited to children from three years and up, also including Adults through to persons who have a disability and could be at risk near or in water.

Housing the same 'Patent' technology as the S.E.A.L. Infant, it will help any person who is not confident around water and provide them that extra help when needed most.

It deploys automatically with a specially designed auto-inflation device specifically designed for this project. Once the GPS is activated it will send an alert message to the mobile device to advise that the S.E.A.L has been deployed, and the S.O,S LED lights will begin to flash every 30 seconds and will continue for up to 10 hours. This will provide search and rescue the ability to look for a flashing light in the dark. The device also has a built-in speaker so the rescuer is able to communicate with the person. It also has an SOS button that can be pressed and the GPS will dial the emergency number being the 000 ( emergency police, ambulance, and Firebrigade), and text messages the rescuer.

Once the GPS dials the emergency services number, the person is connected straight to an emergency service operator, with the mobile number displayed instantly. The emergency services operator will port that number over into our Mobile app 'AthenaEyes'. This will determine the exact location of the person and notify other emergency service personnel as to where the person is located making search and rescue more simplified.

AQUABOOM™

The Aquaboom gives users and those who care about them the safe knowledge that safety is only a push away.

This is great for young children who are used to being in a swimming environment who may need that extra safety buffer if they run into trouble.

Using a hidden away inflatable device in our comfortable and stylishly designed swimsuit, simply push the button and rise to the surface.

The Aquaboom keeps its users head comfortably above water once deployed regardless of where the user is facing when the button is pressed.

All in a swimsuit that hides all of this technology away, because we understand today’s users want safety products that are invisible and do not interfere with their activities.

Housing the similar technology to that of the S.E.A.L the Aquaboom has Bluetooth v5 capabilities with a range of up to 100m. The GPS is also an added extra if required.

Once the Button has been depressed, the device will auto inflate the shirt, and the LED will begin to flash S.O.S for up to 10 hours.

This will provide you with enough time to be found and get to safety.

Help support us on either Kickstarter or Indiegogo. The final stages are near completed. The S.E.A.L prototype is in the first stages of development, R&D on the GPS and mobile app 'AthenaEyes' are also currently in place.

For the mobile app, we will have this fully developed here in Australia and will deliver 'AthenaEyes' software for the GPS and Mobile app. So you can rest assured you're in safe hands. We will be utilizing  MapKit for iOS and Google Maps Android API for Android. Our aim will be to have a well known senior software developer to build this for us.
